Vicky Ruffing, RN, is a Nurse Manager at the Johns Hopkins Arthritis Center, Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD. She is currently involved in both clinical practice and rheumatology research. Vicky is actively involved in both professional and patient education. She is a contributing member to the Johns Hopkins Rheumatology Education Website and has spoken at numerous seminars designed for patients.  In the professional education arena, Vicky designs continuing education courses for healthcare professionals interested in rheumatology. She is a national speaker for nurse education programs. Vicky was a consulting editor for Clinical Care in the Rheumatic Diseases, 3rd Edition for which she received the prestigious President’s Award from the Association of Rheumatology Health Professionals (ARHP) in 2006. In addition she authored a chapter in that publication about maintaining intimacy for patients living with chronic pain.
